Happy February! This month will be filled with lots of fun things to learn! In religion we will start the month with Bible stories and learn the difference between the Old and New Testaments. We will also learn about forgiveness, The Golden Rule, the sacrament of Reconciliation and Ash Wednesday.

In our Language Arts classes we will learn to write opinion pieces, using those skills we've learned like contractions and compound words. We will continue to study vowel pairs and begin learning about that bossy R!

In math we will work on place value of ones, tens, and hundreds. If your student is a little rusty on the name and value of the 5 coins, be sure to freshen up. They will be evaluated on that this month! They will also count the value of same denomination coins. Along with a few other skills. Watch their worksheet to see what we're practicing and review at home!

In Science and social studies we are continuing map skills as we track our Valentines! We will also celebrate Groundhog's Day,  the Superbowl, President's Day and begin to study about our environment.
